His professional practice focuses mainly on complex civil litigation and national and international arbitration. He is an expert on commercial, banking and intellectual property law. In 1996, he led the firm’s first merger and acts as its managing partner.
He was professor of Commercial Law at the Universidad Católica de Guayaquil School of Law from 1993 to 2001, and currently teaches Banking Law at said institution.
Eduardo Carmigniani was a board member of the International Chamber of Commerce (Ecuador Chapter); he was a member of the committee that in 1996 wrote the original draft for the current Ecuadorian Arbitration and Mediation Act, and is an arbitrator of the Inter-American Committee for Commerce Arbitration (CIAC) and of the Guayaquil Chamber of Commerce Arbitration and Conciliation Center. From 1998 to 2000, he was a member of the Banking Board, the highest body of the Superintendence of Banks.
Currently he is President of the Ecuadorian Academy of Corporate Law.
